CANADA DAY….WE NEED YOUR HELP

CANADA DAY IS COMING
AND WE NEED YOUR HELP

Canada Day could not happen without the help of many volunteers. There are several areas where your assistance would be most welcome.
The more people, the easier the work!

Some of the areas needing help are:
Traffic control (parking, directing, etc.)
Decorating (done the night before)
General assistance in the park
The Strawberry Tea in The Town Hall
Parade – set up (night before) and/or clean up
Pet Show

If you would like to offer your help please call: 905-873-8261 or E-mail:   anthea.hoare009@sympatico.ca

2014 Glen Williams Community Clean-up Day

                                 2014 Glen Williams
                           Community Clean-up Day

On April 26 a small but very enthusiastic group of volunteers came early and cleaned up “The Glen” and did a very good job! Items such as diapers, baseballs, beach balls, and real estate signs were found. Dave Cox’s idea about separating garbage and recyclables was a great idea. We collected more recyclables than garbage. Thanks Dave for the idea!
Also thanks to the Town of Halton Hills for donating garbage bags and gloves.

The Glen Williams Town Hall Board provided coffee, hot chocolate and Timbits to the volunteers.

We’d like to have another clean-up day in the Fall.

Anyone interested please contact Rob Boleychuk ….. boleyr@hotmail.com.

GWTHB Annual Tree & Shrub Sale

Green is the New White
At least we hope so. Record setting polar vortex temperatures, ice and continuous snowfalls: this was a winter to remember. Many people lost precious trees and shrubbery.
But spring has finally arrived and it’s time to replace what was destroyed in the ice storm. On Saturday, May 17, Glen Williams Town Hall is holding its annual tree and shrub sale at St. John’s United Church in Glen Williams.
Sheridan Nurseries has once again donated a variety of shrubs, trees, annuals and perennials for the fundraiser. Interested in Begonias, Petunias, Alyssum, Marigolds? We have ’em.

The sale begins at 8 a.m. and numbers will be available at 7:30 a.m. St. John’s United Church will also be selling muffins and coffee and potted plants. For further information please call Pauline Robinson (905) 873-6760.
